Why, then, is this defamatory attack intensifying today in the press of New York, Madrid, Brasilia or Washington? The explanation must be sought in the geopolitics of sovereign fragmentation. Modern rationalism, devoid of any transcendent metaphysics, uses the dialectic of racial identitarianism as a new tool of imperial control. By accusing a historically united national community of racism, the aim is to break its internal cohesion, introduce suspicion among its citizens, promote separatist indigenism and balkanize the cultural and territorial sovereignty of Latin America. It is the constant strategy of the modern world: to dissolve the great national identities rooted in the Christian tradition to turn them into an unstable aggregate of tribes in perpetual conflict, easily governed by supranational agencies and courts.
The defense of Argentina against this campaign does not require shameful apologies or submission to the dogmas of political correctness dictated in foreign academies. It requires affirming with philological gallantry the truth of the facts: that our land has been and continues to be a sanctuary of fraternity where there are no institutional ghettos or legal castes, and that the attempts to tarnish its name are due to the cynicism of those who seek to clean up their own history of oppression by pointing the finger at their neighbor.
